As we listen to the story of the Epiphany on Sunday, we think, “Oh Yes, I know what comes next.“
But delving more deeply into the meaning of the scripture passage, we find what the words can really mean to us.
We too are searchers, or at least could be searchers, for Christ.
Seeing Christ in our everyday schedules, our family, the people we interact with and pass by is a task we, as followers of Christ, are called to do.
This Gospel is about seeing Christ in the one who ignores your greeting, the one whose tone is sharp, critical or even condemning;
It's about seeing Christ in reversals, serious illnesses, problems suffered by our loved ones.
God is seldom found where we expect.
The Magi did NOT expect - were not looking for - Christ, when they recognized him in the star.
As we receive the Eucharist today, let’s search in our hearts for the CHRIST who comes to us.
In Him, let us find our peace, the direction our lives are to take.
