Listen UP: A Simple Act that Leads to Peace

The 2019 National Catholic Sisters Week initiative, Listen UP is underway.

It includes 3 videos created to help counter the tendency of us all to listen only to our own voices. 

The videos portray scenes of discriminatory and potentially violent situations that are resolved when participants listen - really listen - to each other. Watch the Listen UP videos now.

 

One video was deemed so troubling that it was rejected for use in our local movie theaters.

The campaign was created in collaboration with the Catholic Sisters of the Upper Mississippi River Valley and Azubuike African American Council for the Arts. It was written, directed and produced using local teenage actors in local venues. 

All 3 videos will play on the Sisters' Facebook pages March 8-14, and 2 will be in rotation on local movie theater screens throughout March.

 

This is an important moment in history for the entire planet as the seas warm, refugees huddle and abject poverty grows. All of creation is crying out to be heard. 

Let's listen, as St. Benedict urges us, with the ear of our heart. Together.
