This is one of my favorite Easter stories because it is so down to earth.
How many times I have walked those “seven miles” caught in grief, disappointment, spiritual dryness, etc.? I plodded along wondering if I really believed and trusted in Jesus’ resurrection and mine.?
Then I sat quietly pleading with God “help me.”?
Eventually, amazingly Jesus “broke bread” again and shared it with me – a word in Scripture, the kindness of a friend, the wonder of nature, or a simple experience that ignited the flame of love within.?
Afterwards I arose, put on my sandals and walked again on the road into life as it unfolded in the mystery of the resurrection.
Have you ever walked the road to Emmaus in your life?
