The death of a loved one, friend, or co-worker can be difficult to weather alone. While to world continues to turn, you may feel “stuck” in a rut of grief. However, nature’s natural cycles have lessons to teach us about rhythm and change. We still have space for more attendees at a special “Grieving Through the Seasons” retreat this Saturday, May 18th.
The retreat will have three staff facilitators: Pete Rienl, CSG; Melissa Minkley, MSW, CT; and Ann Marie Uselmann, MSW, LCSW. Together, they have over 75 years of experience helping people from all walks of life understand and weather their grief.
Pete and Melissa are co-founders of Healing Life’s Losses Grief Support Services. Pete has 30 years of pastoral ministry service experience, with a focus on creating a safe space for honoring, storytelling, and ultimately, healing.
Melissa has worked with adults and children, one-on-one and in groups, in psychosocial oncology and bereavement counseling. Her work focuses on holistic, or whole-self, wellbeing.
Ann Marie has worked with the seriously ill and their loved ones for over 20 years as a clinical social worker. Currently, she provides individual grief counseling at Ad Pacem ~ Toward Peace Counseling and works directly with cancer patients in Wisconsin.
Together, the three staff facilitators will help participants with grief-related reflections, times of silence, safe spaces for sharing, prayer and meditation, journaling, and other creative activities.
