Q. What excites you about your new ministry?
A. I am humbled to be entrusted, by my Sisters, with the leadership at Benet House. I am very eager to meet the individuals and groups who host and participate in our retreats. I am excited to share our Benedictine spirituality and presence with all who are involved with and use our Benet House. I enjoy programming, too, so am eager to begin planning for future retreats.
Q. Do you have any new plans you can share?
A. Last Spring Sister Sandra Brunenn, our Prioress, convened a task force to identify and evaluate some ways to improve our retreat work in and for the community. Four focus areas surfaced. They include leadership, promotion, strategic planning and raising funds to grow our aid for individuals or groups who can’t afford retreats. I am very excited to explore these areas further, and find creative ways to plan for the future.
Q. How does retreat ministry complement your passion and spirituality?
A. Benedictine spirituality is my passion! Creating sacred space for others to Seek God and ensuring a hospitality that welcomes each person as Christ is our charism and call.
I am also passionate about ensuring that all are able to participate in Benet House programs. I look forward to initiating new ways to provide financial assistance to individuals and groups who need it.
